Truth Center, a non-denominational Christian church celebrates the opening of its new location in Port Washington. Nestled between the Long Island Rail Road station and Main Street corridor; the church’s arrival occurs amidst the area’s recent revitalization project.

In partnership with Maverick Construction, Neal Lenstrom Construction, Upgrade Maintenance and a host of strategic partners; the first phase of renovation has transformed the former Elks Lodge into a modern sanctuary with state of the art technology, a cafe and executive office space.

The second phase of remodeling includes a multi-purpose event space for church and community programming including live entertainment, educational and social gatherings. Prior to the launch, the ministry conducted services in Roslyn since its establishment in 2003.

With over thirty-five years of devoted ministry leadership, Keith and Barbara Pettus pastor a vibrant, intergenerational congregation with community at the heart of its mission. “We began this journey five years ago and overcame several obstacles that hindered an earlier arrival. We’re so elated that it has finally been brought to fruition,” Pettus said. “We look forward to developing an authentic community of faith; one that transcends the norm by engaging real issues for real people. Our new location strengthens and expands our capacity to share truth while responding to the needs of the local Port Washington community.”

Attendees can expect a diverse worship experience, interactive biblical teaching and life application programming for all ages. With distinct offerings addressing the unique areas of shared life experiences; Truth Center’s ministries include: M.A.N.D.A.T.E. Men’s Ministry, Women of Truth Ministry, Marriage Lab, Singles Ministry, ENCOUNTER Student Ministry, The King’s Jewels Children’s Ministry, True Care Outreach Ministry and True Worship & Creative Arts Ministry.

Truth Center will offer services on Sundays at 10 a.m. with childcare provided and Wednesdays for Interactive Q&A at 7:30 p.m. at 2 Franklin Avenue in Port Washington.

Following the 40-minute play, an interactive discussion on bullying and healthy friendships will be led by area professionals. Children ages 7 to 18 are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
