Great Neck Park District Commissioner Election

Great Neck Park District residents vote for Park Commissioner on Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 1 to 9 p.m. Applications for absentee ballots are currently available at the Administration Office, 5 Beach Road or Great Neck House, 14 Arrandale Ave. The last date to file the application for an absentee ballot to be mailed is Dec. 3. For those residents that voted at Baker Hill School in the past, the polling place now is Great Neck House. Call (516) 487-GNPD for more information.

Weekend Film

Dogman (2018), starring Marcello Fonte, Edoardo Pesce, and Nunzia Schiano, is playing at Great Neck House, Friday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7 at 5 & 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. A timid dog groomer living in a poor suburb sells cocaine on the side and stays out of trouble, while trying to deal with his unstable, violent acquaintance who is a menace to the whole neighborhood. This film is not rated; runs 1 hour 43 minutes. Admission to Great Neck House requires a park pass.

Dr. Pam Levy and her Great Neck North All-Stars Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m., join us at Great Neck House for Dr. Pam Levy and her Great Neck North All-Stars. Dr. Levy, GNNHS Department Head of Fine & Performing Arts/Director of Vocal Music, accompanies her talented students as they perform operatic and Broadway selections. Admission to Great Neck House requires a park pass.

Nature Program

Birds, Beach & Botany for Beginners Sunday, Dec. 14, 11 a.m., join us at Garvies Point Preserve in Glen Cove tour Nassau County’s small Garvies Point Preserve in Glen Cove, which is rich in habitats including seashore, pond, field, and forest. Winter Wonderland at the Village Green

Sunday, Dec. 15, join us at Lights and Ice, the outdoor rink at the Village Green, weather permitting. Park District residents must bring current park pass for the resident admission fee. Non-resident fee applies. Call (516) 487-GNPD for more information. *In case of inclement weather, the event will be held indoors at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink, 65 Arrandale Ave.

Winter Camp

Parkwood and Holiday Tennis Camp Children ages 4-10, can enjoy Winter Camp Parkwood during the week of Dec. 23 (excludes Christmas), from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink. Daily resident fee: $120; Daily non-resident fee: $150. Register online at gnparks.org or call (516) 487-GNPD.

For all those tennis lovers out there, we offer a tennis program from Dec. 23 through Dec. 31 (excludes Christmas), 12-4 p.m. for children ages 6-17.
