Nature Program: Winter Seasonal Stroll

Sunday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m., meet the park district at Kings Point Park to learn how Mother Nature survives the cold winter months. Meet in first lot at Redbrook Road entrance. Register as soon as possible at www.gnparks.org or call (516) 487-GNPD.

Lights and Ice at the Village Green

Join us through Sunday, Jan. 12 for our “Lights and Ice” at the Village Green (corner of Beach and Middle Neck Road), featuring an outdoor ice skating rink, holiday lights, food for purchase, fire pits, and igloos. Defensive Driving Classes at Great Neck House

Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving classes are offered at Great Neck House on the first Saturday of every month. There is a class on Saturday, Jan. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. To register or for more information, call the Great Neck House at 482-0355.

Try-Hockey-For-Free Day

Saturday, Jan. 11, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., children (ages 5-12) are encouraged to join us on the ice as we partner with the New York Rangers for our very first outdoor “Try-Hockey-for-Free” event. Be sure to register online today to secure your spot at www.gnparks.org.

Skate School Showcase at Lights and Ice

Join us at the outdoor rink in the Village Green (Beach and Middle Neck Road in Great Neck), Sunday, Jan. 12, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Cheer on and support our up & coming Skate School talent as they perform during our “Lights and Ice” Showcase in celebration of National Skate Month. Everyone is welcome to attend.
