Roslyn High School Students Take the Spark! Challenge

The Island Now

Fifteen Roslyn High School students went to the Procurement Center at Northwell Health with Chairperson of Science Gary Ramonetti on Nov. 14 to learn about how their supply chain works and the Spark! Challenge.

The students also visited the TeleHealth Center on Dec. 3, 2019, where they were introduced to multiple career opportunities and are now designing a presentation about one of the professions to which they were familiarized and will go to the Crest Hollow Country Club in April to present and compete against other schools in the Spark! Challenge. The students participating are Dina Nabavian, Emelie Nguyen, Masha Bogatyryova, Samara Yadegari, Arianna Santos, Isabella Pozo, Mohammad Balasinorwala, Wayne Shih, Maxx Yung, Zachary Zung, Sonia Chandra, Catherine Ren, Kevin Zhang, Sara Lok, and Brooke Williams.

Through the Spark! Challenge, Northwell Health hopes to reach, engage and inspire tomorrow’s healthcare leaders. They bring together educators, schools and many Northwell teams to help introduce students to some of the numerous career areas that require competencies in STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills.
