“Year of the Pig” Ceramic Piggy Banks
Tuesday, Feb. 5, 4:30 p.m.
Grades 1 and up
Have fun celebrating the “Year of the Pig” by painting your own ceramic piggy bank for Chinese New Year or make it into a green pig from “Angry Birds!” Come dressed in old clothes for a mess. Register in the Children’s Room or call 516-746-8488 ext. 1.

Petsitting 101
Friday, Feb. 8, 4 p.m.
Grades 5 and up
Do you love animals? Do you want to become a pet sitter? Then this program is for you. Instructor Michelle Vamos will help you learn the responsibilities and skills needed to watch an array of different animals, while having fun and making new friends. Fish, reptiles, cats and dogs, you will learn how to take care of them all. You will also make animal toys for your to take home with you.  Register in the Children’s Room or call 516-746-8488 ext. 1.

Model Train Show
Saturday, Feb. 9, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All ages
The TMB Model Train Club will set up and run their famous model railroad with trains running on several scale miles of track in the library’s Ann C. Hurley Community Room. Stop by to watch how they do it and ask them how to be a model train engineer.  Register in the Children’s Room or call 516-746-8488 ext. 1.
