North Hempstead council member Viviana Russell and Town Clerk Wayne Wink attended an Earth Day Birthday celebration at the Park Avenue Elementary School in Westbury on April 18. At the event, they spoke to the children about the importance of Earth Day and Russell read poems with an environmental theme. To celebrate Earth Day, the Town presented the school with a gift of books and plants. The students also enjoyed a musical performance by Tom San Fillipo, and together they sang “Happy Birthday” to the Earth.
