Town hosts Project Independence joint advisory committee meeting

North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, together with Council Members Veronica Lurvey and Lee Seeman, attended the Project Independence Joint Senior Advisory Committee Meeting on April 8 at Clinton G. Martin Park in New Hyde Park.

Supervisor Bosworth addressed the crowd and talked about the services available to seniors, as well as the new human service partner, the EAC Network. Guest speakers included Paul Uhl from Project Independence, Carol O’Neill from the EAC Network, Lynda B. Cooper from Northwell Health at Home and Reverend Dr. Nelli Taylor Walthrust, the Director for the North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center (The Leeds Place).

Project Independence is the Town’s aging in place program and has advisory committees in Great Neck, Port Washington, Westbury/Carle Place, Mineola/Williston Park, New Hyde Park, and Roslyn.
