TINKERTOY® comes to Long Island

The Island Now

What better way to celebrate Long Island Children Museum’s 25th birthday than with an exhibit highlighting innovation, collaboration and play.

The traveling exhibit, TINKERTOY®: Build Your Imagination™, is currently on display through Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019.

Focused on a classic toy that has inspired multiple generations, this exhibit turns imagination into working solutions to real world problems.

In the exhibit, giant replicas of the classic TINKERTOY construction set provide the framework for fun.

During the exhibit exploration, children and adults will learn how imagination, problem solving and teamwork positively influence everyday life.

Visitors can explore a walk-in size replica of the iconic canister, create their own designs in an open play area, experiment with renewable energy and water filtration, and take part in a special scavenger hunt.

The exhibit is suitable for people of all ages and is free with museum admission.

Long Island Children’s Museum is located at 11 Davis Ave. in Garden City.

For the safety of visitors, adults are not permitted in the museum without children; museum visitors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
