The Vincent Smith School recently held a dedication ceremony in memory of Nicholas Matalene, a 2008 graduate of the private school in Port Washington.
A plaque bearing the inscription “The Nicholas Matalene Technology Center, in Memory of Nicholas Matalene, Class of 2008” was installed on the wall outside the technology center, which serves the entire student body of grades 1-12.
During his time as a student at the school and after he graduated, Nicholas displayed a keen interest in computers and technology.
The dedication of the technology center memorializes that interest and his love for the school, which specializes in educating children challenged by school anxiety, AD/HD, or learning issues such as dyslexia.
