Girl Scout Zara Quraishi, 9, along with her family, donated 120 boxes of cookies to the medical staff at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. The donation was delivered on March 30.

“I wanted to thank all of the heroes at the hospital for leaving their homes and families to treat very sick patients,” said Zara, who is a member of Girl Scout Troop 1725 from the Herricks School District in New Hyde Park. “The hospital workers needed something sweet to eat so my family wanted to donate cookies to them.”

Zara’s parents are both physicians – Dr. Shaheda Quraishi, is a physiatrist at Northwell Health’s Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery and Dr. Waqaas Quraishi, is also a physiatrist and a voluntary physician at Huntington Hospital.
