Readers Write: Keep Munsey Park moving in the right direction

The Island Now

I am writing to express my support for the re-election of Jennifer Noone for trustee, John Turano for justice, and for the election of Anthony Sabino for trustee who has served on the BAC for the past five years.

Under their leadership, the village has finally become functional and user-friendly.

This is evidenced by their accomplishments in just a few years since the prior administration was voted out:  the paving of several roads, the rehabilitation of Copley Park Pond, the rehabilitation of Waldmann Memorial Park, the removal of the radio tower, the proper administration of the building code to ensure consistent and predictable outcomes for all applicants, increased resident involvement, a new user friendly website, much needed village technology upgrades, and improved correspondence with our residents.

And there have been many more accomplishments moving the village in the right direction.

They have shown themselves to be focused on improving the village’s infrastructure, controlling costs, increasing revenue without increasing taxes, and planning for the future.

Along the way they have made the hard decisions, always putting the best interests of all village residents and taxpayers first with the full knowledge and acceptance of the fact that not everyone will agree with those hard decisions.

In my mind that is the real lesson in fitness for government/public service. If they still want to sign on for more after being misunderstood, misquoted, and cornered at social functions on a particular issue, that’s a win for us, the residents of the village.

With their combined deep, relevant experience, I am confident that we have put our trust in the right hands: Three fully independent, smart individuals with very deep roots in this community who will put the future of the Munsey Park that we all know and love first.

I look forward to voting for Jennifer, Anthony, and John on March 20 and urge you to do
the same.
