North Hempstead Town Board Councilwoman Anna Kaplan has always faced the challenges of an elected official head on. For that matter, her elected position carries huge responsibilities.
Kaplan researches every issue of concern so that she has a broad grasp of each matter at hand. Always responding to every constituent as well as the community at large, she intently listens to different viewpoints. For that matter, she regularly schedules constituent and community meetings and discussions to air different points of view and to find consensus.
Today we are faced with so many critical issues, and Kaplan has consistently and continuously been at the forefront trying to find solutions. A highly vocal advocate against gun violence, she continuously seeks common sense solutions for gun control. And in this light, she also wants to secure school safety.
Kaplan is a proponent of women’s reproductive rights and public schools. Recently, the United Nations issued a stern warning about the dangerous rapidity of global warming and its effects. Since she has always been concerned about the disappearance of environmental protections, she has been a huge proponent to protect the Earth from increasingly dangerous water, land and air pollution.
This year, Kaplan is running on the Democratic ticket to represent the residents of the 7th New York State Senatorial District. This race is critical since the Republicans, who are in the majority, have defeated much legislation passed by the Assembly usually by only one vote for years. Kaplan’s election would allow passage of these blocked bills affecting common sense gun control, healthcare, the environment, education and many other critical issues.
Therefore, I urge everyone to come out and vote Row A for Anna Kaplan for the New York state Senate seat on Nov. 6. Remember, she is an ardent and dedicated supporter of and fighter for our community.
