Reader’s Write: Desperate Trump’s makeover

The Island Now

Desperate Donald is now in the third iteration of his campaign.

A year’s fumbling has not brought evidence that he is any more prepared or suited to lead our country than the day he announced.

Among his new staff is an ultra right exponent of the vilest innuendoes of conservative practitioners.

After a year of listening only to his own voice, so convinced that he can improve every problem with such an evident lack of the detailed knowledge that becoming the leader of the most powerful country in the world must confront, his early enthusiastic followers have discovered his weaknesses.

His constant trial and error approach, and his promises, unsupported by real plans and policies, have aroused strong doubt and disbelief.

The arrogance in declaring that his instincts are superior to those of highly credentialed experts are ludicrous.

They  have increasingly come to cast doubt on his competence, and have pronounced that his knowledge is totally deficient.

His campaign staff has been proven to be meager and disorganized. They have constantly had to make embarrassing excuses for some of his most outrageous statements.

Of late, his regrets are unconvincing and insincere. He regrets that he is losing adherents, not that he is apologizing for disgraceful insults heaped upon his opponents and every sector of our population.

In a new book,(August 23, 2016),”Trump Revealed,” by Kranish and Fisher, based on Washington Post authoritative reporting, there is ample evidence that he has spent his life dissembling, defrauding, and leaving a trail of failed ventures that harmed thousands.

He has over the years changed his voting registration, indicating either that he has changed his basic principles or because it suited his desire to gain undue influence on officials.

Ironically, after all these years of self-aggrandizement, he seems unable to name any actual friends, relying mostly on his immediate family for support and advice.
