Rallye Auto dealers collect for coat drive

All five Rallye Auto Group dealerships will serve as drop-off centers for coat donations through Feb. 7 in support of the New York Cares Coat Drive, company officials said.

The luxury dealership group will partner with the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association to help collect coats that will benefit the homeless, working poor and at-risk senior citizens keep warm during the frigid Northeast winter, officials said.

“No one should have to choose between warmth and other necessities,” said Joseph Stanco, president of Rallye Auto Group, in a statement. “It is very important to help those in need, especially around the holidays.”

Coats can be donated at Rallye Motors, located at 1600 Northern Blvd. in Roslyn; Rallye Acura, located at 1750 Northern Blvd. in Roslyn; Rallye BMW, located at 1 Brush Hollow Road in Westbury; Rallye Lexus, located at 20 Cedar Swamp Road in Glen Cove; and Rallye Collision Center, located at 245 Glen Cove Road in Carle Place.

Officials said all donations are tax-deductible with a prior appraisal. Each person who donates a coat will receive a receipt.

The New York Cares Coat Drive has collected more than 1.4 million gently-used coats since 1989 for distribution to vulnerable residents throughout the City.

Rallye has in the past supported non-profit organizations like the American Red Cross, St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, Swim Across America, Relay for Life and the Roslyn Little League.
