Racism charges against GOP a slander

The Island Now

For the record, I am neither a Republican nor have I ever been a fan of Mitt Romney. Nevertheless, Samek’s inference that an undertone of racism was pervasive on the GOP convention floor and among the speakers is a venomous and ignorant slander deserving rebuke.

While Republicans have their fair share of shortcomings and warts, Lincoln did author and issue the Emancipation Proclamation. Additionally, House Leader Thad Stevens and Senate Leader Chas Sumner produced the XIII Amendment, which abolished slavery and involuntary servitude. They also produced the XIV Amendment, which defined citizenship for all and the XV Amendment which prohibited the denial of suffrage based on race and religion. All were Republicans.

Further, the landmark Civil Rights Legislation of our 60ies was only passed w/Senate Republican votes, which broke a relentless filibuster by bitter end segregationist Democrats from the Old South; a stone cold fact!

Samek encourages the notion that any criticism of Obama is akin to racism; an embarassingly shallow and intellectually bankrupt canard.

Obama’s sycophants fully grasp that they are joined at the hip with this incompetent buffoon; little more than another Chicago pol, who flew under the radar in ‘08. Hence their visceral compulsion to change the subject, to imply race prejudice, to duck direct questions, to fudge and obfuscate and to blame everybody else.

Predictably, the left will say anything to stifle legitimate debate because they know in their bones that any dispassionate evaluation of Obama’s performance as POTUS, exposes him to be colossal fraud; the economy being exhibit A.

Samek says that “Romney spoke not a word about how he would create one job” as if yip-yap were the catalyst for job growth. Were that the case, the Windbag-in-Chief would have created billions of jobs by now.

While at Bain Capital, Romney had both successes and failures which is a fundamental characteristic of entreprenurial capitalism. His successes included Staples, Sports Authority and Domino’s Pizza, among others and the creation of more than 100,000 jobs, another stone-cold reality; verifiable from the Annual 10-K Reports on file with the SEC.

As we approach the election, count on more of this kind of brainless kvetching from the usual suspects.
