After 45 years in show business, Andrea Marcovicci – aka The “Queen of Cabaret” – celebrates her 65th birthday with a brand new concert at Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 8 p.m.
“Moonlight Cocktail” pays tribute to that bygone era of sophisticated nightlife of dining and dancing and the singers like Mabel Mercer, Bobby Short and Billie Holiday whose songs made up the soundtrack of the period. Marcovicci’s nostalgic and celebratory spin through the forties and fifties is filled with her unique insights, charm and wit.
The song list will include, “You Fascinate Me So,” “Darling Je Vous Aime Beaucoup,” “All in Fun,” “Talk of the Town,” “Some Other Time,” as well as the title song, “Moonlight Cocktail.” The Piedmont Post said of the show when it debuted in San Francisco, “Marcovicci is a cabaret phenomenon… There is no one who can match her in vividness, in wit, in glamour, in drama.”
