The man accused of robbing a Village of Great Neck Plaza bank and then speeding off in a BMW in December has turned himself in, Nassau County police said Monday.

Police said Jay Teich, 47, of Oceanside, surrendered to detectives on Monday at 10 a.m. Teich is charged with third-degree robbery.

On Dec. 6, he entered the Capital One Bank at 121 Middle Neck Road bank at 1 p.m., police said, and showed the teller a note demanding money.

Police said the 22-year-old female teller complied and gave Teich an undetermined amount of cash.

After he received the money, Teich entered the passenger side of a blue or black BMW, which drove south down Middle Neck Road, police said.

There were five employees and one customer inside the bank during the robbery, police said, and no injuries were reported.

Police said Teich will be arraigned in court Monday.
