The toddler, nursery and preschool students at Little Sprouts Preschool in New Hyde Park all celebrated the start of the spring sports season by wearing their favorite team’s shirts to school.
Classrooms were filled with the jerseys, hats and logos of the New York Mets, Yankees, Knicks, Nets, Giants, Jets, Rangers, Islanders and even some community-based baseball and soccer teams.
The children enjoyed some activities, stories, games and sports-related snacks as they chanted for their favorite teams.
Little Sprouts Preschool is a ministry of the Christ Lutheran Church and has served the local community for nearly two decades. Registration is ongoing for the 2018-19 school year, and there is also limited space remaining in the school’s 7-session summer recreation program which runs from June 19 to August 2.
