Third Squad detectives of the Nassau County Police Department reported the arrest of a Franklin Square woman who allegedly ran over her ex-boyfriend in Floral Park on Sunday.

According to officials, 33-year-old Kristen Gerakaris of 509 Third St. was charged with first-degree assault and leaving the scene of a serious physical injury accident on Wednesday.

Detectives said Gerakaris, at 12:16 a.m. on Sunday, was driving in the westbound lanes of Jericho Turnpike, east of Emerson Avenue, and struck a pedestrian, her 38-year-old ex-boyfriend whose name was not disclosed in the report.

Officials said Gerakaris had a dispute with her ex-boyfriend prior to the incident.

Gerakaris left the scene of the alleged crime without stopping, officials said, and her ex-boyfriend was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

According to the report, he was admitted and was listed in serious condition.

Officials announced a subsequent investigation ensued where police identified Gerakaris and the vehicle she was driving.

Gerakaris was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.

Efforts to reach a representative of Gerakaris and police officials for comment were unavailing.
