SCA Planet Manhasset continues to enrich Manhasset student’s environmental education with it’s Monarch Butterfly Waystations and Organic Edible Garden. Both elementary and high school students have had opportunities to plant, harvest and tend to the community gardens located at Manhasset Public Schools. Though the gardens have now been prepared for the long winter ahead, SCA Planet Manhasset is co-hosting a sustainable fundraiser with Madewell in Manhasset just in time for the holiday season. Anyone is free to stop in between 7 p.m. and 8:30 pm on Nov. 27 at the Madewell store located at 1950 Northern Boulevard. In addition to store discounts of 20 percent on purchases of $125 or more, Madewell will be contributing 10 percent of all the evening’s sales to Planet Manhasset. If you bring in denim to be recycled (any brand, any size) you will be issued a $20 coupon off a future purchase of new denim.
