Manhasset Lakeville Fire/Water Commissioner Brian Morris is up for a second three-year term with voters heading to the polls on Dec. 11 to cast ballots in the uncontested election.

Morris, an ex-chief of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department who has worked for decades as a Great Neck firefighter, said he was running for a second full term to provide stability to the district.

“The board has been changing. When I ran, I beat the incumbent – when [Commissioner] Donald O’Brien ran, he beat the incumbent,” said Morris. “[I am running] just to keep it on the same track, keep the ship sailing and do the best we can.”

Residents of the district who are registered voters in Nassau County may cast ballots betweem 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Dec. 11.

Polling sites are located at the Company No. 1 firehouse in Manhasset, the Company No. 3 firehouse in Thomaston, the Company No. 4 firehouse at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and Jayson Avenue in Great Neck and the Company No. 5 firehouse in New Hyde Park.
