Local artist captures nature in new exhibit

Local artist Mark Nuccio’s newest paintings and poetry inspired by the “good gray poet” himself, Walt Whitman, are currently on exhibit until Thursday, Feb. 1.

Entitled Land, Sky, Sea, Words, the art exhibit is being showcased in the Gathering House located at the Walt Whitman Birthplace historic site, 246 Old Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station.

Nuccio is a lifelong artist, author and inventor who has exhibited his paintings widely and been published in periodicals, newspapers, and chapbooks. He also writes a monthly historical article for Boating World magazine.

In 1987, Nuccio and his wife Linda founded Design Edge, a graphic design and manufacturing company. The couple lives on Long Island and Oak Island, New York.
