The 149th Running of
the Belmont Stakes

Saturday, June 10 (park opens at 8:30 a.m., races start at 12 p.m.)

Don your fanciest hat and sip a cool cocktail along with thousands of fellow New Yorkers who will head out to the lush grounds of Belmont Park to watch the final race in the historic Triple Crown tournament.  The entertainment lineup includes pop star Andy Grammer, a Broadway performance by “On Your Feet,” and a fashion show sponsored by Longines.  General admission: $30; Clubhouse admission: $60.

2017 Museum Ball:
Night at Studio 54
Saturday, June 10 at 7 p.m. 

The 2017 Museum Ball recreates the fabulous and infamous world of Studio 54, where superstar fashion designer Halston, the subject of the Museum’s current comprehensive retrospective, spent memorable evenings with his celebrity friends — Liza Minnelli, Bianca Jagger and Andy Warhol, among others. With the Ball’s honorary chair Lesley Frowick, Halston’s niece, and Ball sponsors, The Rita and Frank Castagna Family Foundation, Americana Manhasset and Wheatley Plaza, this year’s event will honor the Castagnas and include dining, dancing, and silent auction prizes.

Spring Concert Under the Stars

4 Woodstock Revival:
A Day of Art and Music

Sunday, June 11, 12-7:30 p.m.

Featuring live music by Wonderous Stories, Half Step, Milagro, Four Way Street, and Jellyband, this all-day event recreates the music scene of 1969’s Woodstock and also includes live painting and exhibiting, kids’ activities, yoga, hula hooping, massage, and food and beverages.

Train: “Play That Song” Tour
Wednesday, June 14 at 7 p.m.

Since their music debut, Train has sold more than 10 million albums, with 30 million tracks worldwide and hits from the early “Drops of Jupiter” to the more recent “Hey, Soul Sister.” The band now kicks off their “Play That Song” Tour, with O.A.R. and Natasha Bedingfield as opening acts.

A Trio of Authors at Book Revue

Wednesday, June 14 at 7 p.m.  

This event will feature three authors discussing and signing copies of their new novels: Julia Fierro, author of “The Gypsy Moth Summer,” about a family that lives on a grand estate off the coast of Long Island; Julie Buntin, author of “Marlena,” the story of two girls and the wild year that will cost one her life; and Miranda Beverly-Whittemore, author of “June,” about a young woman named the sole heir to a legendary movie star’s fortune.

Whales, Ales
and Salty Tales

Thursday, June 15, 6-8 p.m. 

The nautical venue known for its creative events for children will be hosting an entertaining evening for adults, who can enjoy craft beer and light refreshments while hearing Dr. Arthur Kopleman and Dr. Howard Rosenbaum speak about the incredible cetaceans in Long Island’s waters, ongoing and cutting-edge research, and efforts to protect these creatures and the ecosystems in which they live.
