Paint Night! Sketch and paint a Tropical Paradise with talented artist Alma. Friday, May 14 at 7 p.m. Supplies: Canvas or paint/watercolor paper, 12×16 in., yet any other size can work too. Acrylic Paints: red, blue, yellow, white and black. 3 different sized brushes: A very fine one for details (pointed round 5), a medium (flat or angle) and a larger (flash wash 3/4) one for the background. Tools: A cup with water, paper towel, mixing plastic pallet (can be a paper plate).

Planning Without Fear, Part 2: Elder Law and Medicaid Updates Monday, May 17 at 12 noon. Presented by Beth Polner Abrahams, Esq. Learn the basics for issues in elder care law including recent changes to Medicaid home care assistance, which assets Medicaid counts and which ones do not count, and Medicare.

All About Hoarseness: What Might Be to Blame? Monday, May 17 at 7 p.m. Hoarseness of the voice is a common complaint and can be a symptom of benign or malignant disease. During this presentation, we will discuss the many possible causes of hoarseness, ranging from thyroid nodules to neurological disorders. Job Search Workshop: How to Succeed at a Job Interview Tuesday, May 18 at 2 p.m. Business has changed dramatically over the past few years, and now is the time to learn the new tips and tricks you need to succeed at job interviews. Join Matthew Santarpia, Director of Learning & Development at CulinArt Group, as he guides us through best practices for the interview process, including live video interviews from platforms like Zoom and more. He has interviewed and hired hundreds of professionals in his 20-year career in the hospitality industry and will be sharing the secrets of “info-interviewing” techniques with you.

Doc, I Can’t Sleep: Insomnia! Tuesday, May 18 at 7 p.m. Have you experienced difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep lately? If you said yes, you are not alone. Insomnia is very common and, not surprisingly, sleep problems are even more prevalent due to the current pandemic. Join Dr. Marzena Gieniusz who is a Board-Certified Internist/Geriatrician, to get some quick tips and strategies to help you sleep better.

Growing Plants Indoors With Science and Magic Thursday, May 20 at 7 p.m. Join plant enthusiast Ben DiMatteo, and learn the secrets to keeping your houseplants green and happy! Understand the science behind their growth and sustenance, and learn to recognize the tell-tale signals that let you know what your plants crave. Second part of this series, companion class to “Basic Houseplant Propogation” is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1, 7 p.m.

Down on the Farm! Pajama Story Time Friday, May 14 at 7 p.m. All Ages! Join Mrs. S, Ms. Karen, & Mr. B. for stories, songs, and lots of moo’s, quack’s, neigh’s, and oink’s. Wear your Pajama’s!

Stemtastic- Rainbow Magic! Monday, May 17 at 5 p.m. Grades: K-4 (parental help with younger grades). We’ll learn how rainbows are created, observe the magnifying properties of water droplets and make a rainbow in a bowl and blend red, yellow and blue to make all each of the colors of the rainbow. Materials Needed: glass of water; penny; eye dropper or straw; 2 sheets of white paper; sunny day or a flashlight; a shallow bowl of milk; small amount of dish soap; food coloring; red, blue and yellow paint; paint brush; plain paper for painting a rainbow; and a cup of water for cleaning the brush.
