Herricks High School’s Model United Nations class and executive board held its third annual “Mini Model United Nations Conference” with the delegates from Chloe Graef’s and Lauren Dunne’s AP Human Geography classes. For this year’s event, the team decided to create a joint crisis committee simulating the current issue between Hong Kong and China regarding the extradition bill that was passed in May 2019.

Two committees represented the Hong Kong protestors and the Hong Kongnese/Chinese government. Delegates debated on the issues associated with the bill’s passing and how to react to it in order to determine the fate of the protestors and Chinese citizens.

“We are so proud of our team of chairs, crisis directors, and amazing delegates who participated and contributed to the success of this year’s MiniMUNC,” said Mrs. Graef.
