Members of the H. Frank Carey High School faculty recently participated in the third annual No Shave November to evoke conversations about both testicular and prostate cancers. The goal of this monthlong event was to cultivate awareness and raise funds to support cancer prevention, research and education for these two diseases.

Not only were there some amazing beards and mustaches, but the school community in conjunction with the Carey Dads’ Club helped raise $700 for the Brian Forgione Foundation. Forgione, who passed away from testicular cancer in 2002, was a friend of science teacher Charles Bewick.

The Brian Forgione Foundation is dedicated to providing opportunities in education and athletics by inspiring and empowering individuals affected by cancer. The foundation helps individuals focus on living life like Brian did — believing that family is strength, courage is power and attitude is everything.
