Listen to the best of Billy Joel at Steppingstone Park when Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot return for another great night of music we know and love.

Steppingstone Waterside Theatre

On Saturday, July 6, at 8 p.m. head to Steppingstone Park when Michael DelGuidice celebrates the music of Billy Joel. Mike currently tours with Billy Joel and his band and returns with Big Shot for another great evening of Billy Joel’s best. Performances are free for Great Neck Park District residents only, with a valid park pass. Each park pass holder is allowed to bring two guests. Special Sunday and Monday family events

The whole family will enjoy Kerboom Kidz & More in Firefighters Park on Sunday, July 7, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Have fun while getting some exercise including dance, Zumba, gymnastics, obstacles and more. On Monday, July 8, head to Allenwood Park at 6 p.m. for a puppet show.

Parkwood Family Aquatic Center

It’s never too late to register for the Parkwood Family Aquatic Center. It’s the best way to enjoy a stay-cation in Great Neck. Enjoy free events and programs with your membership. Sunday, July 7 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., enjoy Bring Your Own Float day. Children under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent. On Wednesday, July 10 from 8 to 10 p.m., join the fun at the adult night party, open to all pool members and their paid guests (regular guest fees apply). Co-Ed Basketball League

On Monday, July 8, the co-ed basketball league begins at the Memorial Field basketball courts for children in grades 5 to 8 at 6 p.m. For grades 1 to 4, the league meets on Tuesdays or Thursdays at 7 p.m. (6 p.m. for an instructional clinic, register separately residents $180/non-residents $200) at Parkwood’s Rec Center. Fees for both leagues: resident, $100; non-residents, $150.

Rotary band concert in the Village Green

Free rotary band concert in the Village Green on Wednesday, July 10 at 7:30 p.m. Bring chair or blanket. Moved to Parkwood Sports Complex if weather inclement. Call 516-487-4673 for more information.

Nature program: Early summer seasonal stroll

On Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m., join an early summer seasonal stroll in Kings Point Park. Meet in the paved lot at the Steamboat Road entrance. Register online at gnparks.org or call 516-482-0355. Children under 16 may not attend.

Sail this summer at Steppingstone Marina

Adult sailing begins at Steppingstone Marina on Thursday, July 11, and runs through Aug. 1. In addition to our adult sailing programs, family courses, new waterfront activities, and kayak and sailboat rentals, we have a summertime sailing program (ages 7 to 17), July 1 to Aug. 30. For those who love to sail or would like to learn, this full or half-day program will have you “on board” in no time. Register weekly or for the whole summer. There are additional activities at Parkwood Sports Complex and optional transportation, daily lunches and field trips. Also offered is sail school (beginners through expert level, ages 7 to 17) for a more competitive, intensive experience on the water. Shake a leg and all hands on deck! Outdoor Movie in the Village Green

The animated film, “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” is showing outdoors in the Village Green on Thursday, July 11 at 6 p.m. The film features the voices of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman and Gal Gadot. It is rated PG and runs one hour and 51 minutes. Bring your own chair or blanket. Rain location will be Parkwood Sports Complex. Call 516-487-4673 for more information.
