Graffiti art exhibit to be on display in Huntington

The Island Now

The b.j. spoke gallery in Huntington is bringing a vibrant exhibit called Street 2 Spoke to its location to honor the impact graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat had on the public. In addition, the gallery is including three renowned graffiti artists – Cope2, Easy and Andaluz the Artist – to join with gallery members’ artworks, rounding off the street art theme.

The exhibition opened on Wednesday, June 25 and will remain open until July 28. A reception will be held on Saturday, July 13, from 6 to 10 p.m. During the reception, Basquiat’s “Teenage Gangs of the 50s,” owned by Cindy Shechter, will be on display for the first and only time that night.

The b.j. spoke gallery is located at 299 Main St. in Huntington. For more information, call the gallery at 631-549-5106 or visit the gallery’s website, bjspokegallery.org.
