Sixth-grade students from Floral Park-Bellerose School delivered the gift of music to long-term residents of Brandywine Living at The Savoy in Little Neck on Dec. 17.

The school’s sixth-grade band, orchestra and choral students dressed in holiday attire as they performed a variety of holiday tunes for more than 50 senior citizens and staff. The show began with members of the band, under the direction of teacher Simon MacVicar, performing several songs, including “Frosty the Snowman” and “Jingle Bells,” while orchestra members led by teacher Chelsea Winter played “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” and “Snowflakes,” among others. The chorus wrapped up the show, at the direction of teacher Alyssa D’Amato. The group sang “Hanukkah Oh Hanukkah,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Sleigh Ride” and more.

Floral Park-Bellerose School Principal Jamie Adams, Assistant Principal Dominique Siebert and Floral Park-Bellerose School District Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Student Services Dr. Juli Mulcahy joined the students at the performance, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the seniors. The residents tapped their feet and clapped along to the beautiful holiday music.
