Kids in the Kitchen: Pepperoni Pizza Puffs

Friday, Nov. 8, 11:30 a.m.

For kids from the ages of three to five, they can create pepperoni pizza puffs. Using real cooking tools and with help from adults on hand, the kids will get to make their own snacks. This class may also help the kids gain experience measuring ingredients, following directions and build their vocabulary. Registration for the class is $5, plus $14 for museum admission. Museum members get free admission to the museum and only have to pay $4 for the class.

5th Annual I Love Chocolate Fest

There will be many kinds of chocolate available at “Chocolate Fest.” Among the sweet treats that will be available are chocolate covered pretzels, bacon, strawberries and crickets.There will also be brownies, cupcakes, cookies, pudding, truffles and fudge. Kids can also have fun on the inflatable rides that will be on hand. There will be live local bands playing throughout the day. Adults can also enjoy themselves by participating in the chocolate donut eating contest.

Family Fun Day Salute to Our Veterans

Spirit’s Promise Equine Rescue at Blossom Hollow Ranch will be holding a celebration of the United States’ veterans. Families can have fun with the beginner line dances with DJ Lady T at the barn. There will also be vendors and food stands on hand. Tours of the farm will also be available. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 years of age or younger. Proceeds from the event will be used to benefit the horses on the ranch.

The Science Museum of Long Island will have some of their resident animals available for kids to get up close and personal with them. The children will learn about the animals that will be shown off. Species expected to be shown include amphibians, reptiles and mammals. Admission will be $75 per child for non-members or $65 for members.

Matilda at the Engeman Theater

The play based on Roald Dahl’s popular novel, “Matilda” is coming to the Engeman Theater. Matilda is the story of a girl with an unbounded imagination who proves that you can put  your mind to anything, regardless of the odds. The high-energy play should be fun for the whole family.
