On Feb. 14, the East Williston School District Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Director of Technology, Innovation and Information Services Edward Kemnitzer as the next assistant superintendent for instruction and personnel effective July 1, 2022.

This appointment follows a thorough internal and external search process conducted by a search committee including representatives from multiple stakeholders within the East Williston School District and the community. After the initial screening of numerous resumes, first-round interviews were conducted followed by additional in-depth interviews attended by the full committee.

“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the search and interview process to ensure the selection of the best candidate to lead the way in the areas of K-12 curriculum and personnel. Through this appointment, we will continue to provide our students with the highest quality education presented by a professional staff that is second to none,” said Board of Education President Mark Kamberg. “We are confident Ed Kemnitzer will meet and exceed our expectations.”

Mr. Kemnitzer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and secondary education from SUNY Geneseo; a master’s degree in English literature from Queens College and School Building Leader and School District Leader certification from The College of Saint Rose.
