Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso and Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum

Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso recently attended Reach Out America’s Jewish and LGBTQ event, held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Manhasset. He had the opportunity to speak with Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum of Congregation Beit Simchat Torah in Manhattan, the country’s largest and best known LGBTQ synagogue.

D’Urso expressed his great appreciation for the lifetime of work that Rabbi Kleinbaum has accomplished, focusing on the needs of the LGBQT community.

“You’ve been helping LGBTQ people long before it was popular and I admire you for that,” D’Urso told her.
