Cilluffo deserves re-election

The Island Now

It has been almost two years since Frank Cilluffo was elected to complete Ruth Tamarin’s term as a commissioner of the Great Neck Park District.

On Tuesday, Dec. 13, he is running in a contested election for a full three-year term.

I am glad the election is contested, because it gives the electorate a reason to cast a vote for Frank in recognition of his performance over the past two years.

When first elected, while Frank was a visible and active presence in the district’s facilities, he was circumspect at board meetings as he learned the various details of a commissioner’s responsibilities, and how the administration operates.

He soon found his voice, and gained his stride working well with the other two commissioners.

He took an active part in the search for the new superintendent and assistant superintendent.

I am supporting Mr. Cilluffo because I think he has proven over the past two years that he will continue to be an excellent park commissioner — if elected to a full term.

Please vote on Dec. 13.
