Chamber ensemble to perform in Great River

The acclaimed Canta Libre Chamber Ensemble will be in concert, performing music for flute, harp and strings, on March 10 at 2 p.m. at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum’s Upper Carriage House, 440 Montauk Highway in Great River.

Repertoire for this concert will be Arnold Bax’s Quintet, Concerto No. 6 by J. C. Bach, Vivaldi’s Double Cello Concerto and contemporary composer Joel Lambdin’s Abstract 1. Performers will be Sally Shorrock on flute, Karen Lindquist on harp, Bradley Bosenbeck on violin, Veronica Salas on viola and Bernard Tamosaitison cello.

Canta Libre was founded in 2002 by flutist Shorrock to foster the performance and enjoyment of musical literature specifically written for flute, harp and strings. They have been acclaimed by audiences throughout the Northeast, with regular performances in Connecticut, Westchester and Long Island. They were featured at The American Harp Society 50th Anniversary National Conference, and have appeared at Lincoln Center, on WNYC at The Green Space, The Music Festival of the Hamptons, Barge Music, Concerts at One at Trinity Church in Manhattan, WLIW TV, National Public Radio of Long Island, and The Brooklyn Public Library.
