North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth attended Nassau County’s Bangladesh Independence Day Celebration on March 21 at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola. Bosworth and Nassau County Executive Laura Curran honored residents of Bangladesh heritage in honor of the celebration. Bangladesh Independence Day commemorates the country’s declaration of independence from Pakistan in 1971. It serves as a way of remember those who died in the Bangladesh Liberation War, but today it serves as a festive day to celebrate with parades and patriotic spirit.
