Auditions for production of ‘Grease’

The Island Now

Harbor Musical Theater Company, the musical theater division within Port Washington Play Troupe, will present “Grease” at the Landmark on Main Street’s Jeanne Rimsky Theater July 19-21 and 26-38, 2013. Interested community members are welcomed to come out to audition or volunteer to work on the show.

The production will feature a twist: adult actors (ages 30+) will play all the parts, as the characters relive their youth at a high school reunion. The creative team will be led by Director Brian E. Long and Musical Director David Barnett, with Stephanie Hall serving as Executive Producer.

Auditions will take place at the Elks Lodge (30 Haven Avenue, across from the train station) on Sunday, May 12 from 4-8 p.m. and Monday, May 13 from 7-9 p.m., with callbacks on Wednesday, May 15 from 7-9 p.m.. Interested auditioners should prepare 16 bars of music, be prepared to read from the script, and dress in comfortable clothing, as they may be asked to Hand Jive.

Those interested in working behind the scenes or playing in the band are also encouraged to stop by.
