Person struck by train near Mineola Tuesday night: MTA

A person was struck by an eastbound LIRR train near Mineola at approximately 6:37 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the MTA.

No information was given about the victim or his or her condition. Everyone aboard the train was unharmed.

There were delays of 45 to 60 minutes on the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma, Oyster Bay and Huntington branches in both directions on the Long Island Rail Road.

Officials said the preliminary investigation found no suspected criminality.
