Adelphi’s College Awareness Day

The Island Now

On Thursday, May 9, Adelphi University will help introduce approximately 430 middle and high school students to the college experience at the sixth annual College Awareness Day. Students from grades six to 11 will be provided the tools they need to make an informed decision about their future.

The event will include presentations from Adelphi faculty focused on general college admission requirements, the application process, and the benefits of achieving a college education. Students will be encouraged to think about what their dreams are and discuss the steps they can take to achieve their goals starting with their education. They also will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with Adelphi faculty.

Students will personalize their own I Have A Plan cards to motivate them to think about their future. Adelphi faculty, staff, students and administration will also fill out I Have A Plan cards that will be displayed throughout the event as a way to inspire students and show them what their future can hold.

To conclude the event, students will get a chance to get familiar with the campus through a Brown and Gold tour.
