The spices in your kitchen not only help with the way your food tastes, but they also can help improve the quality of your health. No fancy recipes here. If you can boil water you can easily prepare easy home remedies.

Anise seeds can treat congestion resulting from allergies, colds or flu; they can also be used to aid with indigestion and gas. Chewing anise seeds is even effective for treating bad breath. Add one teaspoon of the seeds in one cup of boiling water. Strain before drinking.

Basil can offer relief of a cough. Prepare a brew of one teaspoon of dried basil leaves and one cup of boiling water; add honey and sip.
Bay Leaves can treat dandruff. Boil a handful of bay leaves in one liter of water, remove from heat, cover and wait until the liquid cools. Pour on hair and leave for 45 minutes to 60 minutes. Rinse your hair well.

Black Pepper can help stop bleeding. Sprinkle a generous amount of black pepper on the cut; this will neutralize the bleeding and pain.
Caraway Seeds help ease gas. Soak one teaspoon of caraway seeds in one cup of boiling water. Strain before drinking.

Cayenne Pepper can clear your sinuses, suppress your appetite and accelerate your metabolism simply by sprinkling a little bit on your food before you eat. This spice can also help prevent gum disease and mouth pain. Sprinkle on your toothbrush and brush, or add to a glass of water and gargle.

Celery Seeds work to reduce inflammation. Prepare one and half teaspoons of celery seeds with one cup of boiling water; let the seeds soak for 20 minutes and then drink..
Cinnamon can help raise your HDL and help with joint pain. If you’re “good” cholesterol is raised you can eliminate inflammation which reduces joint pain. Mix one-half teaspoon cinnamon with one teaspoon of honey and add to your herbal tea.

Coriander can lower your cholesterol. Boil one cup of water, one teaspoon of coriander seeds, drain and sip.

Cloves are great for treating bad breath, relieving nausea and helping with a sore throat simply by munching one clove root. If you are suffering from mouth pain, place one clove on the painful area until the discomfort subsides.

Cumin acts as stress relaxer. Boil one cup of water with one teaspoon of cumin. Cool and drink in a gulp.

Dill Seeds can stop hiccups when you swallow one teaspoon. Chewing a handful of dill seeds will help to cure bad breath.
English Pepper can relieve muscle aches. Grind the pepper into a powder, add some water to thicken and apply to painful area.

Fennel Seeds work wonders for stomach cramps. Soak one teaspoon of fennel seeds in one cup of boiling water and strain before drinking.

Garlic Powder makes an excellent mosquito repellent. Make a paste of garlic powder and water and apply to the pulse points, behind the knees, and on the ankles. You can even add a small drop or two on the cheeks, face and neck. Be careful not to put close to your eyes.

Ginger is used for many remedies. To relieve nausea, prepare a brew of one-half teaspoon of ginger with one cup of boiling water. Strain before drinking. To cure headaches, make a paste of ground ginger and water and place on the painful area. To calm your cough and heartburn, add one-half teaspoon ground ginger and one teaspoon of honey and add to boiling water.

Mint works well for abdominal pain and convulsions. Brew one-half teaspoon of dried mint leaves in boiling water, strain and drink.

Mustard Powder, when mixed with one liter of warm water, can alleviate congestion. Drink every two hours.
Salt is known to be a valuable disinfectant for your mouth and throat. Rinse several times a day with warm salt water. You can also use salt to dull pain from insect bites by sprinkling directly on to the affected area.
Thyme is known to soothe a sore throat and quiet a cough. Mix one tablespoon of dried thyme with one cup of boiling water. Strain and drink.
Tumeric will reduce your fever. Simply mix one-half teaspoon of turmeric powder with one cup of warmed milk and add a teaspoon of honey.
