One of the newest and tiniest residents of Roslyn Heights, a Yorkshire terrier barely over 2.5 pounds, has been missing for almost two weeks.

The dog’s name is Morta, and her owner, Mila Kirrkravchuk, said she ran out the front door on Nov. 10 and has been missing ever since.

Morta is 6 years old and was born in Kirrkravchuk’s home in Ukraine.

They moved to the United States together in September, and Morta didn’t mind the plane ride.

“She was with me – she was OK,” Kirrkravchuk said.

Since Morta went missing, Kirrkravchuk has been asking people to be on the lookout for a little dog with long brown and silver fur who might even be in sheds or garages given the recent rain and snow.

“I talked to every neighbor,” she said.

Kirrkravchuk said that she appreciates those in the community who have been helping in the search.

“It’s times like this that I’m especially grateful for living in the wonderful town of Roslyn,” she said.
