A Woodside man was arrested in Great Neck Plaza on Sept. 29 in connection with a fatal drug overdose in Nassau County earlier this year, according to officials from the county’s major case bureau.

Officials said 31-year-old Juan Altagracia of 4825 46th St. in Woodside was arrested without incident and charged with “numerous counts” of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and numerous counties of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Altagracia was arraigned on Wednesday in Mineola, according to a release from the county’s police department, but efforts to reach officials for a further update on the trial were unavailing.

Narcotics and vice squad detectives said Altagracia’s arrest was part of an investigation of a fatal drug overdose earlier this year as part of Operation Natalie, the county’s war against opioids.
