I write this letter in support of Wayne Wink, the Democratic nominee for North Hempstead Town Clerk. Mr. Wink has had broad legislative experience in government, having been elected and re-elected to the town board and the Nassau County Legislature. A gifted attorney, he knows and understands the town code thoroughly.
While on the town board, he created legislation for a Domestic Partner Registry that was unanimously passed by the board members and supported by the community. He has been a tremendous advocate for and about women’s issues from health to domestic violence to discrimination.
His legislative voting record demonstrates and symbolizes his advocacy for the myriad of social and financial issues that face women in Nassau County.
Highly creative and independent, Wayne Wink is known for his honesty, sincerity and hard work. He is greatly respected by all who meet him. There is no doubt that he is his own man.
Not only will he be an outstanding town clerk, but he will monitor closely the various items brought before the town board that pass through the Clerk’s Office, as well as various clerk tasks that include various licenses.
I urge everyone to support and vote for Wayne Wink on Election Day, Nov. 5.
