Wheatley three-sport athlete receives the News 12 Scholar Athlete Award

The Wheatley School’s Athletic Department is proud to announce that senior and three-sport athlete, Samantha Rothstein, received the News 12 Scholar Athlete Award sponsored by the Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Samantha received a $1,000 scholarship and is one of thirty student-athletes on Long Island to receive the prestigious award.

During her career at the Wheatley School Samantha has played soccer, basketball and lacrosse. She recently captained the girls soccer team which made their second appearance in the NYSPHSAA State Tournament and was named to the All-State team. She was also the leading goal scorer on Long Island for girls lacrosse (94 goals, 16 assists) for the 2018 season. She has committed to Tufts University where she will further her academic career and play Women’s Lacrosse.

Samantha received the award for her outstanding athletic achievement, leadership, extra-curricular activities, community services and academic performance.
