The election races for the villages of East Williston, Williston Park and Mineola in March are mostly uncontested.

Two trustee spots and a village justice position are up for election in the Village of East Williston.

Trustee James Lark is running unopposed after he took the spot left vacant by longtime Trustee and former Mayor Anthony Cassella in October.

Mayor Bonnie Parente has said that Lark is an “active voice” in the community and that while they do have disagreements she felt he was a person she could respectfully disagree with.

Deputy Mayor Christopher A. Siciliano informed the village he will not seek re-election this year. The village said that East Williston resident Anthony Gallo was the only person to file a petition and will be running unopposed on the Community Party line.

Village Justice Joseph Sperber also informed the village that he will not seek re-election this year. The two candidates for the post are Emil Samuels, who is running on the Community Part Line, and Mitchell Flachner, who is running on the Integrity Party Line.

Williston Park Trustees William Carr and Mike Uttaro will run unopposed for re-election.

Both candidates first ran in the 2012 election, in which Uttaro ran with Diane Thorp on the Representative Party line for two seats former Trustees William Damstadt and Barbara Alagna vacated.

Carr ran on the Integrity Party line, backed by Mayor Paul Ehrbar and former Mayor Doreen Ehrbar.

In Mineola, incumbents Paul Periera and Paul Cusato are running unopposed for village trustee.

Pereira was first elected to the board in 2008, while Cusato has been a trustee since 2004.

Both candidates are graduates of Mineola High School and have lived in the village for more than a combined 100 years.

The elections in all villages will be held on Wednesday, March 18.
