Floral Park Memorial has been honoring National Bullying Prevention Month in more ways than one! On Wednesday, Oct. 23, the Knights turned in their red for orange and the entire school participated in the #wearorange movement in support of bullying prevention. Each class partook in different anti-bullying and empowerment activities.

In the World Language Department, students created anti-bullying posters in Spanish, Italian and French. A Unity Tree was also created in Italian! In Math, Physical Education, Health and Special Education classes, students created paper chains with positive messages. In Social Studies classes, students participated in “share the orange”, where students would pass an orange around to another student while sharing a positive remark about the classmate. There was a “Be the in KIND” wall where students stood in place of the letter I and took a stance on sharing kindness and compassion to one another. The broadcast journalism class is in the process of creating a video montage of the event, which will be shared in the near future. All students, faculty and staff have participated in the lip-sync video to the song This Is Me from The Greatest Showman.
