Unarmed man robs Mineola bank

An unarmed man robbed a Capital One bank branch in Mineola on Tuesday afternoon, Nassau County Police report.

According to Robbery Squad detectives, a man entered Capital One bank located at 210 Mineola Blvd. on June 9 at 12:20 p.m., approached two tellers and verbally demanded cash.  

Police said the tellers gave the robber an undetermined amount of money. He then fled the bank on foot, traveling westbound on Lincoln Avenue, police said.  

Police said there were eight employees and four customers in the bank at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.

Detectives described the man as black, between 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet, 3 inches tall, medium build and wearing a blue scarf, black sunglasses, black hoodie, blue jeans and white sneakers.
