The Town of North Hempstead will present the 12th annual “Kids Safety Day” on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Mary Jane Davies Green in Manhasset.

The event is designed to engage children and their parents in education about fire, the internet, car safety and more.

The Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department will be on hand with a smokehouse that will allow children to get a hands-on experience on how to safely exit a burning structure. Kids Safety Day will also feature activities by the Little Gym of Roslyn, giveaways, arts and crafts and more.

“We look forward to hosting Kids Safety Day every year,” said North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “It has been such an important community tradition over the years, as we allow our children and their families to learn how to stay safe in a variety of ways. Through partnerships with local organizations, we have created an event that is filled with useful information and resources for our residents.”

Mary Jane Davies Green is located across from Town Hall on Plandome Road in Manhasset.  For more information please call 311 or (516) 869-6311 or visit www.northhempsteadny.gov.
