With the Town of North Hempstead’s Summer Concert Series completed, the town is looking to begin a new tradition by hosting its first International Music Night at Martin “Bunky” Reid Park. This free concert will take place in Westbury on Friday, Sept. 6 and feature a trio of musical performances including Jose Trombone with Latin rhythms, Formul-la presenting Haitian Creole and Caribbean Kompa, and LC Entertainment performing popular Motown tunes.

“There are so many different cultural backgrounds among residents of the Town of North Hempstead. By bringing these bands together for one night, it gives music fans the opportunity to enjoy their favorite genre of music right here at a Town park,” Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman said.

Town Councilwoman Viviana Russell, who spearheaded the creation of this event, said, “It is always exciting to bring fun and innovative events like this to our community. This eclectic group of bands is sure to put on a performance that will have music lovers dancing in their seats.”

The concert starts at 6:45 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair and a snack. In the event of rain, the concert will be held at the North Hempstead “Yes We Can” Community Center at 141 Garden St. in Westbury. For more information on this concert and other town events, please call 311.
