The New Hyde Park Tornado Tigers continued their strong fall season with a 3-0 victory over Massapequa.
The strong defenders from New Hyde Park allowed almost nothing to get near the keepers as they dominated the Massapequa forwards.
Kim Keblish played a very strong game at stopper, just missing a goal on a powerful kick over the goal post from about 25 yards out.
Hannah Arkin continued her scoring binge this fall with two more goals both on strong kicks over the keeper from the left side.
Karina Gotz had the final goal on a nice kick from the left side after a take away. Arkin’s first goal came off a nice pass from forward Julia Gordon.
Midfielders Maya Castro, Natalie Schlueck and Maggie Donnelly all played well controlling the middle of the field. Debra Keller, Mariella Facibene, Andrea Castro, Danielle Gerbe and Abby Wizel all had solid games for the Tornado Tigers.
The Tornado Tigers received the sportsmanship award this week for the spring season. The girls won the award for the second season in a row and have now received three Sportsmanship awards from Long Island Junior Soccer.
