‘Topsy Turvy’ show at Isaiah

The Island Now

Temple Isaiah will present “Topsy Turvy Time”, an evening of Gilbert and Sullivan favorites, on Saturday, Nov. 9. The program will include selections from such popular operettas as “HMS Pinafore” and “The Mikado.” Performing will be two experienced Gilbert and Sullivan actor/singers: Richard Solow and Patty Gallagher.

Solow has performed the comic lead in eight Gilbert and Sullivan operettas over the years, and Gallagher, a Peabody music school graduate, has sung a number of lead soprano roles with a Long Island light opera group.

They will be accompanied by Great Neck pianist and composer Sina Kiai, co-director of the Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island.

The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. and include beautiful melody as well as humor. Solos, duets and a full scene will be performed in the program. The cost is $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door. Reservations may be made by calling the temple at 487-5373. Home made refreshments will be served during the evening. Temple Isaiah, located at One Chelsea Place off Cutter Mill Road, is a member congregation of the Union for Reform Judaism.
